Top 4 SEO Techniques
When a search engine such as Google returns web pages for your keyword search, its given a weighted average. There are a tons of search engine optimization (”SEO”) techniques to help get your web site ranked higher, but we're going to focus on just four of our favorites.
1. Title Tag
The title tag is meta information inserted at the top of a web page, and displayed in the browser bar. The Title tags are arguably the most important of the on-page factors for SEO. Title tags should incorporate synonyms and alternate phrases to capture additional search visibility. Title tags are definitely one of the most important techniques as far as the algorithmic weight given to them by search engines; they are just as important as the visible copy - perhaps even more so.
2. Keyword Density
Think about how normal users search for your product. Think about what keywords your competitors are using. Try to think of all possible keywords then rank them. Don't use too many. You should use the keywords only once in the title tag, once in the heading tag, once in bold text, and then shoot for the density to be between 5% to 20%.
3. Link Popularity
Link popularity is arguably the most powerful SEO tool. Typically a website must have a link to it, in order to be looked at by the spiders (Program used by search engines to visit web sites and collect the data for the search engine to index). The idea behind this reasoning is like an education paper. The more people that reference a site, the more credibility it has. So, increasing your search result ranking, depends on the number and quality of the sites that link into yours.
4. ALT Tags/Attributes
This is text coded in the HTML that associates words with web graphics. These tags typically ignored completely. Since a spider (Program used by search engines to visit web sites and collect the data for the search engine to index) reviews the code of a web site, it cannot assign a value to the images. ALT tags/attributes give text to assign to an image. Your main keywords need to be included in some ALT tags/attributes.
Again, there are tons of techniques, we wanted to highlight four.
