Web Site Complete For First Historically Black College Entrepreneurial Business Plan Competition
LITTLE ROCK, AR (January 6, 2006) – Arkansas' First Annual Business Plan Competition for Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) is designed to encourage students in Arkansas to act upon their ideas and talents in order to produce the businesses of tomorrow. The Arkansas Capital Corporation Group believes that the future economy of Arkansas is going to be determined by the men and women starting business enterprises today, and thus, has created a program to get HBCU students more involved.
iProv, LLC, a Little Rock-based application development company, completed development for the 2006 Arkansas HBCU Entrepreneurial Award Competition site located at http://www.ARhbcuplan.com. The site gives pertinent information about the competition and has downloadable forms for those students wishing to compete. Deadline for student’s intent to compete is January 25. Students must have a sponsor from their respective universities and be part of a team. Students competing in the competition have a shot at a $10,000 award.
The web site allows students to obtain information about sponsors within their campus and gives contact information (email and phone numbers) for them. It also contains a complete listing of rules and regulations.
“We were delighted when we were asked to help get this competition off the ground. In college, I competed in a similar program, which gave me a tremendous amount of experience in writing and presenting a business plan. I hope many students will take advantage of this great opportunity,” said RJ Martino, iProv Project Manager.
