Roxane and R.J. Martino share much more than last names. This brother-sister
team is proud to call themselves UALR graduates and creators of iProv LLC., a design
and computer services company they operate through the CyberCollege’s
entrepreneur incubation program.
Roxane, 23, and R.J., 22, started the company four years ago when they were
both full-time students. She earned a degree in graphic arts in 2003, and he
graduated in 2004 with a degree in computer science. Together they’ve
run iProv, gathering clients and creating software and applications that simplify
data bases management and customer service.
“We focus on web applications that make websites more of functioning
tool for companies,” Roxane said. “We have goals and our company
is getting stronger, but I don’t know when we’ll be strong enough
to leave the incubator.”
The Martinos hire UALR students to help fill client orders. Their largest
client to date is the English “As a Second Language” program run by
the state Department of Education.
“Our main purpose is growth and we’re trying to get a point where
we can move out and run things on our own,” she said. “We’re
not there yet, but we are swamped.”
